KENNETT SQUARE, PA — New Bolton center reports this Thursday that 2006 Kentucky Derby champ Barbaro continues to gradually improve after his acute discomfort from a new cast last week. “Barbaro’s comfort level is improving steadily, and we are gradually tapering off his pain medication,” said Dr. Dean W. Richardson, Chief of Surgery. “His vital signs are stable, and his appetite is good.”
Barbaro remains in the Intensive Care Unit of Penn’s George D. Widener Hospital at New Bolton Center.
The next update will be released on Wednesday, January 24, unless there is a significant change in Barbaro’s condition.
