 Under Ramon Dominguez, Michael Matz trainee Chelokee won the Grade 3 Native Dancer Stakes by a neck over willing foe Zanjero on Saturday. Sam P. was third. Going off as the favorite, Chelokee paid $4.00. The final time for the 11/8 mile was 1:42.46.
Chelokee stalked the pace from four wide and didn't take the lead for too long before Zanjero took over. Chelokee answered right back, prevailing by a neck.
