Indian Blessing wards off Proud Spell in Silverbulletday Stakes Print E-mail

Indian Blessing--bred for her skills in magic, and piloted by Garrett Gomez for trainer Bob Baffert--held off a determined Proud Spell to narrowly escape defeat in the Grade III Silverbullet Day Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans. The $200,000, 1 1/16 mile race for three-year-old fillies was won in 1:43.75. Larry Jones trainee Proud Spell finished second under jockey Gabriel Saez. The $1 Exacta paid $7.80. Highest Class was third, for a $31.60 Trifecta; and Jolie the Cat completes the Superfecta at $54.80.
