Racketeer outruns Sinister Minister Print E-mail

With blinkers on for the first time, Sinister Minister broke well to almost wire the one mile Allowance for four-year olds at Santa Anita, but Racketeer rallied in the stretch to victory over the 2006 Bluegrass Stakes winner.

Sinister Minister had company from Datticus throughout most of the race. In the stretch, Datticus was overtaken by Grand Point for second as Racketeer rallied to victory over Sinister Minister by a little more than a length.

Sinister Minister is best remembered for his 2006 Bluegrass Stakes victory. In the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby prep, the Bob Baffert trainee won by 12 3/4 lengths. Sinister Minister briefly grabbed the lead in last year's Kentucky Derby after a battle for the pace with Keyed Entry, but finished 16th.
