German-bred and previously raced in France, five-year-old Royal Highness won the Grade III Very One Handicap over Gulfstream's turf on Sunday. Edgar Prado piloted the mare to a two length victory in the 1 3/8 mile race.
Trained by Christophe Clement for Monceaux Stable, Royal Highness began racing stateside in Fall of 2006; finishing third behind English Channel at the Grade I Turf Invitational Classic in October, and second by a half length to Safari Queen in the Grade II Long Island Handicap in November. The Todd Pletcher trainee Safari Queen took second place this time.
