Favorite Smitty's Sunshine drew off to three length victory in the Bienville Stakes for fillies and mares four-years and older. The final time for the 5 1/2 furlong turf contest at Fair Grounds was 1.02.92.

Trained by Morris Nicks and piloted by Robby Albarado, Smitty's Sunshine broke from post 5 to take the lead inside the upper stretch. Miss Penny Fortune couldn't catch the winner, but finished 2 1/4 lengths ahead of third-place Somethinaboutbetty.
