Smokey Stover went off as the heavy favorite against only three foes who dared to challenge the nation's leading sprinter in the Grade 3 Bay Meadows Breeders Cup Sprint Handicap. With Arron Gryder on board, Smokey Stover took the victory by a length.
The final time for the six furlong event was 1.08.40. Trickey Trevor set the pace with Smokey Stover in second until collaring Tricky Trevor in the stretch. Britt's Jules rallied for second, with Areyoutalkintome catching third. Tricky Trevor tired to finish last.
