Song of Navarone wins the WinStar Derby Print E-mail

Victor Espinoza was in the irons to take over the WinStar Derby with Song of Navarone. The victory margin was a length over an incoming Solemn Promise.

Henry Domiguez was the winning trainer. Dale Romans trainee Solemn Promise came up with second. Forty Grams led most of the way and held on for third. The final time for the 1 1/8 mile was 1:48.53.

Bob Baffert's assistant trainer explained that Law Breaker was scratched from the race due to concerns with muscle cramps after a Saturday workout at Sunland.
