Songster wins Bold Ruler Handicap in 2007 debut |

In his four-year-old debut, Songster won the Grade 3, six-furlong Bold Ruler Handicap by 2 1/2 lengths Saturday. Piloted by Edgar Prado, Songster had not raced since a fifth-place finish in August of 2006. It was also his debut race for the Godolphin stable, and Rick Metee, assistant to trainer Saeeed bin Suroor.
Anew, also unraced since last Summer, challenged Songster early, but tired and finished fifth. Dashboard Drummer was second, and Dark Cheetah third.
This past Winter Sonsgster was transferrred from Darley and trainer Tom Albertrani. His next race may be the Grade 2, six-furlong True North June 9th on the Belmont Stakes card, or the Grade 2 Tom Fool Handicap on Juy 4th.
