Summer Doldrums wins the Whirlaway |

In his second consecutive victory since finishing out of the money against Nobiz Like Shobiz in last November's Remsen Stakes, Summer Doldrums won the Whirlaway Stakes at Aqueduct by 5 1/4 lengths.
The winning trainer was Rick Violette, and the jockey was Mike Luzzi. Summer Doldrums is now targeting the Grade III Gotham Stakes.
The 1-2 favorite Lawrence the Roman finished out of the money in fifth.
