Sweetnorthernsaint was so favored to win Laurel's Harrison E. Johnson Memorial Handicap that he would pay only ten cents to every dollar bet on him. With Mario Pino on the mount, the four-year-old gelding took an easy lead and won by four lengths over a surging Cupac.
The victory was over a muddy track, giving 'Saint his second win in as many tries over an off-track, and improving his career record to 6 wins in 13 starts. Michael Trombetta was the winning trainer.
