 With Aaron Gryder on board, Winstar Oaks winner Tough Tiz's Sis captured the 1 1/16 mile Hollywood Breeders Cup Oaks for winning trainer Bob Baffert on Sunday. Eight entries shrank to a field of only five, with Silver Swallow finishing second by about 3 1/4 lengths. Longshot High Cholesterol was third, Follow the Clues was fourth. The winner paid $6.40. The $1 Exacta paid $5.20, the $1 Trifecta $29.30, and the $1 Superfecta paid $76.30.
Follow the Clues broke best, chased by Tough Tiz's Sis and High Cholesterol. Silver Swallow stalked those patiently, while a head-strong Ashley's Kitty fought against her jockey at the back of the bus. Tough Tiz's Sis drew away from the turn, pursued by Silver Swallow from the inside, and extended her lead to finish unmatched. The final time for the 1 1/16 mile was 1:43.30.
