BelmontABC and ESPN will offer extensive multimedia coverage of the 139th Belmont Stakes this Saturday, June 9th, including the live race broadcast and in-depth features on the jockeys, trainers, and horses in this year's Test of Champions. ABC's telecast on Saturday runs from 5-7 p.m. ET.

ESPN will have programming from noon to 5 p.m. and will follow the race coverage on ABC with a half-hour Triple Crown wrap-up show at 7:30 p.m. All Belmont programing on ABC and ESPN will be aired in high definition television. Undefeated filly Rags to Riches stars in this weekend's classic race, and the Queen of the Fillies is the star of a Saturday night movie on ABC, Ruffian.

Brent Musburger and Chris Fowler will host the race coverage with analysts Jerry Bailey and Randy Moss, reporters Jeanine Edwards,  Rece Davis and Joe Tessitore and handicappers Kenny Mayne and... Hammerin' Hank Goldberg (don't kill the messenger --GHP editor).

ABC Sports will use 29 cameras to cover the race including two cameras on top of a car on the backstretch giving viewers a close look at the horses . In addition, coverage will include a new graphic system to identify horses using a pointer.

Features on The Belmont telecast on ABC and ESPN will include: Robbie Albarado - Curlin's jockey who has overcome numerous injuries throughout his career; Steve Asmussen - Curlin's trainer who has had an up and down year with a suspension, the death of his grandmother six days prior to the Preakness; Louisiana jockeys - Calving Borel and Robbie Albarado won the first two legs of the triple crown. Others with a lot of success include Marc Guidry, Kent Desormeaux; Tiago - a brother of Giacamo with the same owners, trainer and jockey as the horse that pulled a stunning upset in the Derby 2 years ago; and a piece on how jockey's have to put fear aside in order to do their job.
