In a five-horse race, Cobalt Blue held off Air Commander with a two-length wire-to-wire victory in the Grade II San Felipe. Victor Espinoza was on the mount for his graded debut.
Cobalt Blue is two-for-two this year, and the solid win gives trainer Doug O'Neill another Derby contender. Cobalt Blue is a Merv Griffin enterprise. Level Red was third.
